Session Descriptions

Keynote Address: Delivering Great Data In The Age Of Engagement
Suresh Menon, Vice President, MDM Product Management, Informatica

Organisations that focus on data have been shown to have better financial performance. We are moving from an era of cost optimisation and productivity to an age of engagement. This engagement is with customers, partners, third parties, and machines. At the center of every winning business strategy is data. We will talk about how to accelerate your organisation’s results using the Intelligent Data Platform to manage data of any type and from any source to drive better business outcomes.

Informatica Platform Strategy
Joshy George & Anand Ramamoorthy, Informatica

The Intelligent Data Platform provides a single source of complete, clean, timely and safe data for use by everyone in the organisation. In this session we will demonstrate the new and upcoming features of the platform. Specifically we will show how Informatica Rev enables business analysts to significantly cut the time required for data prep work, freeing more time to focus on analytic insights. We will also show how the new Live Data Map and Intelligent Data Lake will be used to provide a highly intuitive and productive environment where all members of an organisation can quickly locate and use the data they need for projects. We will show how the platform is increasingly providing intelligence to guide users to the best and most relevant data, enabling both business and technical users to discover, manage, and utilise data they need to accelerate their initiatives and drive business results.

Proactive Data Governance – Compliance, Operational Efficiency and a Foundational Capability for Growth, Head of EIM, GE Capital A&NZ

Get compliance-ready and learn from GE. GE Capital ANZ has partnered with Informatica to dramatically improve our data governance capability. Data Governance is a top priority for GE Capital globally due to increased regulatory requirements around data (GE is designated as a SIFI by the US Fed) and the fact that data is critical to daily operations and business performance. The information management environment had evolved over a period of 15 years, with a general lack of standards, documentation, and controls. By leveraging the Informatica platform (Metadata Management, Data Quality, PowerCenter, Data Validation and Complex Event Processing), GE has been able to deliver a rigorous data governance framework with asset classification, dictionaries, lineage, reconciliation, and processes tracking. Beyond that, all new ETL is subject to controls that ensure it meets standards and does not affect production processes. With the help of Informatica, data governance has moved from an area of concern to an area of strength for GE Capital.

Informatica Cloud 101: Understanding the Informatica Cloud Portfolio
Roberto Baldoni & Clive Astbury, Informatica

Cloud Integration has evolved beyond point-to-point integration. With the rapid growth of fast-deploying SaaS apps, customers increasingly expect to go live with integration projects in days or weeks. This creates an increasing demand for fast-deploying Informatica cloud integration, which encompasses data synchronization and data replication, real time app integration, master data management, test data management, and data quality. In this session, you’ll learn how Informatica Cloud’s 6-step wizard and cloud mapping designer approach enables quick integration of SaaS and on-premises apps, why you need a unified platform for both batch and real-time integration, and how to quickly connect to applications and data protocols such as SAP, JSON, OData, Amazon Redshift, and Hadoop. We’ll also discuss how to incorporate test data management and data quality into an integration workflow.

Total Customer Relationship - Customer-Centricity: Using Great Customer Data to Power Great Customer Experiences
Monica Mullen & Jason Mallia, Informatica

Gartner predicts that by 2016, companies will primarily compete on the customer experiences they deliver. The problem is that marketing, sales, and call center teams struggle to deliver seamless, integrated, and consistent customer experiences across channels and touch points. Why? Their business and analytical applications are powered by inaccurate, incomplete, and disconnected customer information.
