Course Overview
Learn how to best optimize the performance of Informatica PowerCenter through lecture and hands-on exercises. This course is designed for advanced PowerCenter developers and will introduce attendees to the various techniques and tools to perform tasks such as isolating and optimizing bottlenecks at various levels (source, transformation, target, session, and system), server sizing. This course will also cover partitions and grid in more detail.
Objectives
After successfully completing this course, students should be able to:
- Describe the different types of potential bottlenecks that may affect PowerCenter’s performance
- Describe how to isolate and optimize source, target, and engine bottlenecks
- Apply best practices to PowerCenter mappings
- Describe how to calculate memory used by a session and optimize session- level memory and transformation cache
- Describe different partition types and guidelines for usage
- Perform system optimization and server sizing
- Understand various concepts on integration service on grid
