Course Overview

This two day, instructor-led course introduces the student to the Informatica 9.6 Analyst tool through lecture and hands-on exercises. The course is designed for business users and data stewards who are new to the Informatica Data Quality Analyst tool. Informatica Analyst is a web-based application client that analysts can use to analyze, profile, and score data in an enterprise. The course will familiarize students with the Analyst Tool and method of understanding the data set by creating projects and objects, profiling data and identifying anomalies. It will demonstrate how to use profiling results to understand relationships between tables and files, build Reference Tables and Scorecards, as well as how to collaborate with Developers across projects, platforms and technologies, boosting productivity and eliminating errors. The student will also learn how to manage Exceptions and Duplicate record tasks.

4. Reference Table Management

  • Describe reference tables

5. Rule Specifications

  • Convert business rules into logical objects that analyze business data
  • Observe the use of Rule Builder to design and store business rule objects in a software environment
  • Demonstrate use of Reference Tables with a Rule Specification
  • Demonstrate use of Rule Specification outputs (mapplets) within a profile
  • Informatica Developer users connect the objects to the business data sources and run the objects on the data

6. Scorecarding

  • Understand how to build and configure a scorecard by applying Pre-built rules
