Session Descriptions

Informatica Intelligent Data Platform: Deliver Great Data By Design
Anil Chakravarthy, CEO, Informatica

Organizations that focus on being data -driven have been shown to have better financial performance. We are moving from an era of cost optimization and productivity to an age of engagement. This engagement is with customers, partners, third parties, and machines. At the center of every winning business strategy is data to fuel every process and interaction. We will talk about how to accelerate your organization’s results using the Intelligent Data Platform to manage data of any type and from any source to drive better business outcomes.

Best Practices for Data-driven Success Panel
Moderator: Joe Frio, Informatica
Panelists: Barb Latulippe, EMC
Justin Donlon, Carbonite
John Bassani, PwC

The world is increasingly being run on data. Whether driven by regulatory compliance or a desire to analyze what leads to more engaged consumers, or both, success depends on the ability to deliver clean, safe and connected data to the right stakeholders. Having great data like this available where and when it is needed doesn’t happen by accident; people, process and technology have to work together seamlessly. Most importantly, successful data-ready enterprises demand an interlock between business and IT. This panel will include Informatica clients and a partner who gained consensus and collaborated with business and technical colleagues to define and advance data-related best practices across their organizations. Emphasis will be on exposing practical, efficient and reusable approaches.

Making Data More Human
Jer Thorp, Co-Founder, Office for Creative Research

In this talk, Jer Thorp shares his beautiful and moving data visualization projects, helping audiences put abstract data into a human context. From creating interfaces for NASA, to mapping the way people share articles across the internet, to data performances at the Museum of Modern Art, Thorp's cutting-edge work uses technology and data to help us learn about the way we use digital technologies, become more empathetic in the data age, and ultimately, tell the story of our lives. How can understanding the human side of data lead to innovation and effective change? What value is there in the novel and interactive approaches to data visualization? And, what are the business applications of creative data-focused research? Thorp teaches audiences how adding meaning and narrative to huge amounts of data can help people take control of the information that surrounds them, and revolutionize the way we utilize data.

Accelerate your Analytics Initiatives
Barb Latulippe, EMC

Analytics is all about delivering actionable business insights faster than your competitors. Growing data volumes and complexity can impair timely and trusted decision-making. The lack of standardization and interoperability can also impede efficiency, repeatability, and maintainability. These bottlenecks ultimately inhibit business stakeholders from getting timely and trusted data to drive business decisions. Join this session to learn how Informatica can help to accelerate your analytics initiatives with an integrated data management platform that works with any data, any analytics use case, and any BI/Analytics tool.

The Essential Guide to the Cloud Analytics Market
Clive Bearman, Informatica

Cloud Analytics is one of the most hyped and misunderstood phrases in today’s business environment. For example, one viewpoint can concentrate on data visualization, while another touts the latest trend in distributed processing. In this session Clive Bearman, Director Product Marketing Informatica Cloud will share some actual market data around what’s happening in the cloud analytics market, combined with some anecdotal observations. He’ll also share some useful tips on what you might investigate today and what things are worth watching.
