Enterprise Architect Lunch Breakout

Data is the fuel that will differentiate your organization in the marketplace, yet most organizations do not have an enterprise data architecture to support that direction.  This breakout will cover new thinking around enterprise data architectures and the advantages of an intelligent data platform in that architecture. Are you an Enterprise Architect? If so, sign up for our exclusive lunch by simply checking the box "Yes, I will attend the Enterprise Architect Lunch."

Session Descriptions
Perspectives on a Data-centric World
Tony Baer, Principal Analyst, IT – Information Management, Ovum
Every day, we collect more data than the day before. More business transaction data. More human interaction data. More machine interaction data. Data is no longer the records we keep but it is becoming the fuel for better customer interactions, smarter products. This keynote will discuss the trends and technologies that are fundamentally changing our landscape towards a data first mindset and how next-generation data technologies can be leveraged to unleash the potential locked up in your systems.
Getting Started with 2 Big Data Projects: Data Warehouse Optimization and a Managed Data Lake
Marty Norris, Product Specialist, Informatica
To leverage Big Data for greater business agility and innovation, you need to speed up the process of finding, accessing, and preparing Big Data for analysis — while still controlling costs in your data warehouse environment. Find out how Hadoop lets you redistribute data storage and processing to optimize for cost, performance, and scalability by creating a new data management infrastructure called a Data Lake.
Transforming to True Customer Centric Organizations with MDM
Ravi Shankar, Vice President, MDM Product Marketing, Informatica
Business users use applications to accomplish their day-to-day tasks. But their productivity is severely hampered when the data within these applications deteriorate to the point of being conflicting, inconsistent, and incoherent. Master Data Management (MDM) is the panacea that delivers data fidelity with the best version of the truth for business-critical data. Empower business users by enabling their applications to be “MDM Aware”.

Data-centric Security for a Data-centric World
Julie Lockner, VP of ILM Product Marketing, Informatica
Increasing privacy regulations — and increased public attention to data breaches — make it critical to protect financial records, personal information, and other sensitive data. Learn about the latest data security trends, see updates to Informatica's data privacy and Test Data Management offerings, and find out how Informatica protects sensitive information in real time and in non-production environments without requiring costly, time-consuming changes to applications and databases.

Journey to the Cloud
Sid Lasley, Vice President, Cloud Sales Engineering, Informatica
Technology megatrends such as SaaS, social, mobile and Internet of Things are transforming where business data resides, what business data is comprised of, how we access business data and who are the users of business data. The result is that every company, in every industry, must respond to these megatrends and manage data in a new way as the where, what, how and who of business data is now in a hybrid world and eventually moving to the cloud. In this session, learn about Informatica’s industry first complete Cloud integration and Data Management platform for the move to the cloud. Key use cases for journey to the cloud includes data migration, data synchronization & replication, cloud process automation, cloud mdm, lift and shift patterns, and cloud data warehousing.

MDM in a Big Data World
Christopher Blotto, Chief Technologist and Managing Partner, Knowledgent
The concept of the Data Lake is becoming more prevalent in data management circles. Organizations need to consider a number of factors, including processes and architecture attributes, when developing a data servicing strategy. On the process side, the conceptual framework should include master data source identification, acquisition, hub management, integration, and access. In tandem with these processes, the MDM architecture should be capable of long-term high performance and responsiveness to continuous change. Essentially, MDM becomes the "reservoir" in establishing a search index within the Data Lake. In this industry innovation session, topics to be covered include using MDM capabilities to enable search and navigation in distributed environments; transitioning existing data management investments into the Big Data world; and distinguishing the hype from the reality through real-world use case overviews.
